This course provides a general introduction to the discipline of International Relations, to international history and to major themes in world politics. Major theories and approaches to world politics are covered, including classical Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, Marxism, Feminism, and Postcolonial and Critical Approaches as viewed from the discipline of International History. Topics to be covered will include issues of war and peace, world order proposals, power, International Political Economy, regionalism, foreign policy analysis, global civil society, justice and human rights, international organisations, state theories, empire and social media.
